I founded the charity in memory of my mum, Doris Banham, who was a great animal lover.
Running a charity is not easy. The constant worry of over 100 dogs’ lives relying on me, is a weight on my shoulders that I have learnt to live with but will never get used to. Sleeping at night is a luxury of years gone by as now my head is filled with desperate faces, hopeless cases and the never-ending worry about how I will pay the pile of vet’s bills, the kennelling costs but mainly the heartache of not being able to save a dog due to lack of funds. Having to beg, borrow and persuade people to help and donate never used to come naturally to me, but now it is all I do. So many lives depend on me. I have no choice.
When Buddy & Lola approached me and asked if I was interested in becoming their partner charity, we jumped at the chance. Our supporters rallied and we came first in the voting. Since that day almost five months ago, Buddy & Lola have supported us. Not only have they donated competition prizes and supplements for the dogs in kennels (their Super Tummy Instant has helped so many nervous and poorly tummies adjust), they have also donated a percentage of their sales every single month. Last month alone, they funded 138 kennel nights for dogs in our care.
That is 138 nights where dogs were safe from cruelty, not at risk of being put to sleep, well fed, warm and looked after. It is no exaggeration when I say that Buddy & Lola have literally saved so many dogs lives and are continuing to do so by supporting us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and on behalf of the dogs you have helped to save so far.
